Agentwork now reads your accounting data in Numina

Agentwork now reads your Numina accounting. Ask about spend, invoices and ledger entries in plain language, and run workflows on them. Read-only, EU-hosted.

We have connected Agentwork to Numina, the Danish bookkeeper-plus-software for freelancers, startups and holding companies. If your company's books live in Numina, Agentwork can now read them. You can ask about your spending in plain language, and your workflows can use the numbers without anyone exporting a CSV first.

We use Numina ourselves, so we initially built this integration for our own expense reports. More on that below.

What does the Numina integration do?

The Numina integration lets Agentwork read your company's accounting data and use it in answers and workflows. It covers income and spending by account over time, ledger transactions, and sales invoices.

It is read-only. Agentwork never creates or changes a record in Numina. Your bookkeeper's ledger stays the source of truth, and Agentwork treats it as one more place your company's knowledge lives.

How we use it: the monthly expense report

Every month we build an expense sheet that feeds into our investor update. It used to take an hour of copying between Pleo, our bank statement and a spreadsheet. Now an Agentwork workflow does it all automatically on the first of the month.

Here is what the August run did, step by step, with no one at the keyboard:

  1. Worked out the reporting month from the schedule and pulled up July's sheet to copy its structure, categories and formulas.
  2. Pulled every card transaction from Pleo for the month.
  3. Pulled the ledger from Numina, both booked and draft entries. That is where the non-card spending lives: rent, a large annual domain renewal, a contractor invoice paid by bank transfer, payroll software, bank fees.
  4. Filtered out what does not belong in an expense report (salary and payroll tax) and categorized the rest the way we always have.
  5. Built the sheet, checked that the category breakdown summed to the transfer list, and ran a second review pass over its own work.
  6. Stopped and asked me to approve before anything was filed.

So when I show up on the first day of the month, the expense report is now built for me, without having to do any exports or manual work.

The everyday version

Workflows are of course very powerful for saving time, but you can also just ask questions like:

  • What did we spend on software in Q2 compared with Q1?
  • Which invoices are still unpaid from last month?
  • How much did rent and office cost us this year so far?
  • What was booked to consultants in August, and who did we pay?

If the answer is not in Numina yet, because the bookkeeper has not booked it, Agentwork says so. Booked and draft entries are kept apart, so you know which numbers are final.

Saving money with Numina and Agentwork

We also set up a second workflow on the same data. The workflow brief is short: "Look at what we spend money on, how much and what for, and come up with a proposal for what we could cut. If you need to understand a charge better, reach out to the relevant person."

The last part is possible because Agentwork can reach out to people in your org. If you want to cut a tool, it is important to know more than just what the tool costs. And even knowing if someone logs in might not be enough data. So the only real solution is to ask the people using the tool.

Setting it up

Connect Numina from the integrations page in your Agentwork account. You sign in to Numina, approve read access to the ledger, and the connection is live. The data stays in the EU, as does everything else in Agentwork. The connector runs on Numina's own MCP server, so what Agentwork can see is exactly what Numina exposes, and nothing more.

If you are on Numina and want to try this, the 7-day free trial includes unlimited integrations, so you can connect Numina and start asking, then add Pleo and Slack next to it, which is where the monthly report workflow starts to pay off.

FAQ

Can Agentwork edit or create records in Numina?

No. The integration is read-only. Agentwork reads income and spending by account, ledger transactions and sales invoices. It cannot post, edit or delete anything in your books.

What data from Numina can Agentwork see?

Income and spending by account over time, ledger transactions (booked and draft), and sales invoices, for the company you connect. Access is granted through Numina's own authorization flow, scoped to reading the ledger.

Who can see the accounting data inside Agentwork?

Only the users you allow. Agentwork enforces permissions on every answer, so a teammate who should not see the books does not get them in a search result or a workflow output.

Does the Numina integration work with Pleo?

Yes. Agentwork also connects to Pleo, and the monthly expense report above uses both: card transactions from Pleo and bank-side ledger entries from Numina. You can connect one or both.

Where is the data stored?

Agentwork is hosted in the EU. Data read from Numina is processed and stored there, alongside everything else in your Agentwork account.

Numina keeps the books for freelancers, startups and holding companies in Denmark, with bookkeeping and accounting software in one fixed-price product. If you use both Numina and Agentwork, connect them and tell us what you asked first.
